When the world was told to shut down the sound of silence was piercing. In response to this I wrote "When the Music Went Silent", highlighting the loss we felt when we couldn't even be together, let alone sing together.  The song starts with the singers humming, representing our unheard voices, followed by the solitary and melancholic cello.  The same melody shifts from minor to major representing the hope, resilience, and kindness of humanity.
